VENTY by Storz & Bickel – Fastest Vape on the Planet?

Storz & Bickel markets the Venty as their fastest-heating portable, and the claim holds up against the rest of their line. Official materials put heat-up around 20 seconds, and the instructions for use say the device can reach its base temperature in as little as about 17 seconds depending on battery charge, room temperature, and how full the chamber is. If you want a session without the wait that older portables force on you, that speed is the main reason to look at the Venty.

What “fastest” actually means

On Storz & Bickel’s own comparison pages, the Venty is the portable speed champion: roughly 17–20 seconds to 180°C / 356°F. The newer Veazy sits nearer 40 seconds to the same mark, and the Volcano Hybrid desktop is also about 40 seconds despite its size. So “fastest” here means fastest in the current Storz & Bickel family, not a vague internet boast.

Heat-up time is not the same as vapor quality. A quick warm-up gets you to a usable set temperature; flavor and vapor density still depend on grind, pack, airflow, and whether you step temperature during the session. The Venty’s advantage is that you spend less time waiting before those choices start to matter.

Core specs that matter day to day

  • Temperature range: 40–210°C (104–410°F), set on the device with a clear display
  • Factory levels: base 180°C, booster +15°C, superbooster another +15°C (offsets adjustable in the Web App)
  • Airflow: adjustable up to about 20 L/min — from tighter, punchier draws to more open, cooler pulls
  • Heating: hybrid convection and conduction for vapor from early draws
  • Power: dual lithium-ion cells, USB-C / USB-C PD charging (Storz & Bickel quotes fast charging up to about 80% in roughly 40 minutes)
  • Size / weight: about 15.7 × 5.5 × 3.7 cm and ~252 g
  • Extras: Bluetooth and Web App for finer control

Those numbers make the Venty a performance portable: more adjustable than a simple three-click device, quicker to ready than most of the brand’s older handhelds, and heavy enough in the hand to feel solid without tipping into desktop territory.

Base, booster, and superbooster in practice

Out of the box you land on 180°C. That is a sensible middle ground for many dry herb sessions: enough heat for satisfying vapor while still leaving room for flavor. Double-clicking the power control steps to booster (default 195°C), then again to superbooster (default 210°C, the device maximum). Booster and superbooster time out after about 90 seconds and fall back to your base setting, which is useful when you want a short denser finish without permanently running hot.

A simple approach that works well:

  • Start on base for the first draws while terpene-rich vapor is still bright
  • Step to booster when vapor thins
  • Use superbooster sparingly at the end if you want maximum extraction before the load is spent

If you prefer cooler flavor sessions, drop the base temperature in the app or on-device and treat booster as your ceiling instead of racing straight to 210°C.

Airflow is half the experience

The adjustable airflow dial is as important as the heat-up claim. A more restricted setting concentrates vapor and can feel stronger per draw; opening the path cools the vapor and makes longer pulls easier. If vapor feels harsh, try opening airflow a notch before you drop temperature — often the draw was simply too tight for the heat you set.

Keep the cooling unit and screens clear. Restricted airflow from a dirty path can make a correctly set temperature feel hotter and thinner than it should. A dedicated clean-and-maintain guide covers the routine in detail: How to clean and maintain your Venty.

Who the Venty suits (and who might skip it)

Good fit if you want: short waits, precise temperature, adjustable draw, and a portable that can keep up with denser sessions without jumping to a desktop Volcano.

Look elsewhere if you want: the absolute lightest pocket device, or a simpler one-button routine. Storz & Bickel’s Veazy is aimed at that simpler daily carry, with a slower heat-up as the trade-off.

Accessories that actually improve speed and comfort

The Vapetrix does not stock the Venty device itself, but the parts that change day-to-day feel are in stock. Use these to support the fast heat-up rather than fight it:

For a full accessories map, see the Venty accessories guide and the best Venty accessories starter kit. Capsule workflow is covered in Venty dosing capsules 101.

Quick start checklist

  1. Charge enough that heat-up stays near the 17–20 second claim (a low battery stretches the wait).
  2. Load a medium grind — not powder — in a capsule or the chamber; leave a little room for air.
  3. Set base around 175–185°C if you want flavor first; leave 180°C if you want the factory balance.
  4. Open airflow until the draw feels easy, then fine-tune.
  5. Step to booster only when vapor thins; clean screens before you blame the heater.

Bottom line

The Venty earns the “fastest Storz & Bickel portable” label with a real ~17–20 second path to a usable 180°C, plus airflow and booster controls that let you steer flavor versus density after you are up to temp. Pair that speed with dosing capsules, a clean glass mouthpiece, and sensible temperature stepping, and the short heat-up becomes the start of a controlled session rather than a marketing line.
